Julien Rose began long before I ever gave it a name.

 

It started in the warmth of my childhood kitchen, beside my mother — a woman with a heart that was both physically fragile and endlessly full. Though she battled congestive heart failure and couldn’t work, she poured her strength, love, and creativity into every dish she made. Cooking was her language, her art, and her way of showing us love when words weren’t enough.

 

As her body grew weaker, I picked up the spoon where she left off. She’d sit close, watching me move through recipes she once led, pretending we were on a cooking show — she the judge, and I the rising star. Those moments, filled with laughter, learning, and connection, became the core memories I carry most.

 

When she passed in 2011, I found myself searching for her in the quiet spaces of grief — and I always found her in the kitchen. In the rhythm of a whisk. In the scent of something sweet rising in the oven. In every plate I placed with love.

 

Julien Rose was born from that place — a deep, soulful longing to feel her presence, to honor her legacy, and to share the kind of love she gave me: warm, flavorful, and unforgettable.

 

Every dish I create carries her name, her essence, and her heart. Because here, at Julien Rose, we don’t just serve food — we serve memories. We serve love.
